Strohmaier: New passenger rail line could break ground in 3 years
Missoula officials have confidence a shovel-ready project for a southern Montana passenger rail line could be complete in the next three years, although millions of dollars worth of research and investment are still needed.
The proposed passenger rail line stretching from Chicago to the West Coast was presented to Congress on Jan. 20, and Missoula County Commissioner and Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority Chair Dave Strohmaier said this week he has confidence the new administration will move the project forward.
Strohmaier told the Missoulian the rail authority has a goal of getting a new passenger line through southern Montana in the next decade, adding the project is still moving at that pace. Read more.
