"...the Stark County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to support the Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority in their mission to restore passenger rail service through southern North Dakota.
The Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority is dedicated to enhancing and expanding passenger rail service within Montana and surrounding states, to include North Dakota. The primary focus is securing restoration of Amtrak's former Hiawatha route, which once served the primary population centers of both southern Montana and North Dakota before the service was discontinued in 1979.
Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority believes passenger rail service restoration will generate economic activity and opportunity, as well as create jobs. Stark County is excited to support the efforts and plans of the Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority."
