Full steam ahead: Eastern Montana citizens provide pros, cons to passenger rail restoration

Vice Chairman of BSPRA Jason Stuart and MSU - Extension Local Government Center’s Dan Clark acknowledged all of the points each person made regarding the restoration of passenger rail service to Southern Montana and encourage everyone still to give input by submitting comments to the BSPRA as it continues in its efforts.

Clark added that whether anyone is for or against the effort, understanding the collective voice of the people it affects is important to the BSPRA’s decision making process. “It’s not an us or them, but it’s how do we strengthen our voice for supporting rail authority,” Clark noted.

“As long as the (BSPRA) is here, and whether you are in the authority or not, we do not want your train to go away and we are going to fight for it just as hard as we’re fighting for this one,” Stuart said. “We have a lot of work in front of us beyond just restoring the former North Coast Hiawatha route.” Read more.
