Greater Northwest Passenger Rail Summit held in Montana on Monday

Passenger rail advocacy groups from across the Northwest, plus federal, state, local and tribal officials are gathering in Montana on Monday for the first ever Greater Northwest Passenger Rail Summit. The passage in late 2021 of the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (iija) has created the first opportunity in decades to expand and improve passenger rail access,

The Big Sky Rail Authority, led by a Missoula County commissioner is hosting the summit in Billings. It hopes to restore passenger service through in southwest Montana, after it shut down 42 years ago. Read more
